Burden Of Light is a mouse only Zelda-like boss rush. During this one-hour experience, you play as a monk that must climb the 5 stories of a mountain and defeat the 5 bosses that represent the 5 stages of grief.
This is the first real vidéogame project I ever made, and I'm still quite proud of it.
The Puzzles
Before each world, the new méchanic is introduced through a puzzle in a safe context. We designed the puzzles together with Lila. Since we had only one puzzle per méchanic the progression curve is a bit rough, but it still teaches the player.
The Boss
I was in charge to design and program the 4th boss: the boss of depression in the world of ice. He is made of dozens of small frozen spirits always charge on the player so that the player never has time to catch his breath, and really feels the opression.
